Endurance running is any type of running that requires you to manage your pace so that you can complete a race. Really, your body only can run at full speed for so long before it will just stop and you will not be able to go any further. This is called sprinting. Endurance running is a little different, and it requires a specific knowledge of what is required by the body to last through extended running distances. A person would be considered an endurance running coach who has this knowledge, and so the person you hire to personally train you for an endurance running event is a personal endurance running coach.

If you are looking to complete a race anywhere from a 1500 meter run* to a marathon, you may want to hire a personal endurance running coach. Depending on how invested in your goals you are, it may make a lot of sense to invest the extra time and money in a coach who is solely focused on you and your success. They should gather a lot of information to formulate a particular, unique plan for you and your strengths, weaknesses, and goals. 

*1500 meters is a little less than a mile
